Description from the seller
Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden and studied at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and then worked for a long time from Amsterdam. Her artist name was also sometimes “La Roja,” referring to her preference for strong colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by lively color, dynamic forms and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance and dream imagery play a major role. She often used mixed techniques, including acrylic, oil paint and pencil, giving her works a rich, texturally rich appearance that directly engages emotion. Her art is described as lively, energetic and full of movement, almost as if the canvases “breathe.”
Dimensions of the work: 140 x 200 cm
The work is viewable in our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay operates a framers workshop (this year their 85th anniversary) and a restoration studio. So if you would like to make use of these services, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
Shipping is possible; this will be arranged after completion. For questions, please contact us.
