Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born 1966) is a Marche artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small town among the Marche hills, specializing at the highest level in resin processing, varnishing, and chroming.
The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to release the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been merely an “excellence-based technique” thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his craft into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
