Medsan signs this 40 × 40 cm giclée, Léviator Doré – Pokémon (金屏風のギャラドス), a unique 1/1 work from 2026, edition limited and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
There Is Only One Such World - Edition 1/1
With this square-format work, Medsan turns Léviator, the formidable sea-serpent Pokémon, into a motif for an elaborately adorned Japanese byōbu screen. Risen above the waves, with its gaping mouth, the blue dragon unfolds against a background of gold leaf punctuated by silver and gold foam-tipped waves. This single giclee bears the signature « メドサン » (Medsan) in a cartouche.
The visual strength of the composition lies in its homage to the great gilded screens (byōbu) of the Rinpa school, notably Ogata Kōrin’s famous Waves: a radiant gold ground, stylized waves with elegant arabesques, rhythmically divided by the vertical lines of the panels. The Pokémon, treated with the roundness of anime yet integrated into the vocabulary of classical painting, seems to have belonged to this golden ocean for all eternity.
The impact of the work rests on this unexpected nobility: the video game creature raised to the rank of a mythological dragon, guardian of the waters, worthy of Japan’s national treasures. Medsan builds a bridge between contemporary pop fantasy and the grand decorative tradition of the archipelago.
A sumptuous, gilded and spectacular piece, ideal for adding a precious, pop, and decidedly refined touch to a collector’s interior — a favorite among lovers of both Japanese culture and pop culture.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a studio of artists gathered around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a true place of artistic production, the studio operates both through collective creation and individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Alongside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo is engaged in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, produced, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
