Dimensions: 40 cm x 50 cm
Dimensions with frame: 46 cm x 56 cm
This painting was created by the Dutch artist Johan (Joop) Kropff (1892–1979). Kropff studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and developed into an important representative of the Nieuwe Haagse School. His work is characterized by a atmospheric, impressionistic painting style with a strong attention to light and color.
Kropff was a member of Pulchri Studio in The Hague and enjoyed recognition during his lifetime. In 1932 Queen Wilhelmina purchased one of his paintings, thereby confirming his reputation as a leading artist.
Viewings are, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house picture framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, please let us know.
