Description from the seller
Original work by Wags. With this new scene from the The Red Hat Collection series, Wags transports his mysterious character to the summit of Manhattan. Overlooking the city from a terrace with a pool, the feminine silhouette contemplates the urban vastness in an atmosphere where luxury, freedom, and light seem to suspend time. The contrast between the vertical lines of the skyline, the reflections on the water, and the glow of the red hat creates an image that is both contemporary and timeless. Between realism and cinematic aesthetics, this work invites everyone to imagine the story behind this moment of calm in the heart of one of the most fascinating cities in the world.
This work is part of The Red Hat Collection, a series of paintings where a mysterious silhouette wearing a red hat traverses the world's most iconic places, leaving it to the spectator to imagine its story.

Biography:
Wags, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the journey of a polymorphic artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present through his father, a draftsman, Wags discovers at a very young age his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to make a bold decision: invest the money intended to fund his higher studies into the creation of his first album.
Distributed by EMI, the album did not meet the expected success, but it marked the beginning of a rich and experimental artistic career.
Alongside his music career, Wags enters the world of advertising as a copywriter for the iconic magazine Playboy. For many years, he brings his creativity to the publication by creating and producing the magazine's advertising campaigns.
The turning point of his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2017, Wags makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in global street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted art creation, Wags stands out with more than 3,000 works sold in galleries and online to date.
Seeking to explore new artistic realms, Wags is none other than Kobalt who signs under this pseudonym to avoid interfering with his usual work.
This contemporary figurative painting draws on classical realism and a modern glamorous aesthetic. Collectors who appreciate the light of Joaquín Sorolla, the mastery of Anders Zorn, the elegance of John Singer Sargent, as well as the worlds of Richard S. Johnson, Pino Daeni, Jack Vettriano, Fabian Perez and Jeremy Lipking will find in this work an atmosphere and a treatment of light familiar to them.
