Description from the seller

About the series "Galaxy Advertising"

In Galaxy Advertising, Kobalt invents a language that no one speaks — not even him. An unlikely mix of gravity-free Cyrillic and Martian calligraphy vaguely Asian, this script is supposed to be the most spoken in the neighboring galaxies… There is no need to try translating it: it says nothing, but it says it beautifully. A cosmic wink at a communication coming from very, very far — or simply from another imaginary realm.

Biography:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the journey of a polymath artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers at a very young age his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to make a bold decision: invest the money intended to fund his higher studies to invest it in creating his first album. Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of a rich artistic career full of experimentation.

Paralleling his musical career, Kobalt enters the advertising world as a designer/writer for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he brings his creativity to the publication by creating and producing the magazine's advertising campaigns.

The turning point of his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cinematographer, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in world street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted artistic creation, Kobalt stands out with nearly 3000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is marked by the bold use of humor, provocation, and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for altering magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay off social networks, thereby preserving a certain intimacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation, and humor.
