VILLAFUERTE presents The Shape of Returning, a 2026 acrylic painting in Abstract Expressionism, measuring 93.5 cm by 112.5 cm, original edition, hand signed, in excellent condition, created in Spain and sold direct from the artist; a digital certificate of authenticity can be provided on request.
Description from the seller
The Shape of Returning explores recurrence as both structure and sensation. Forms emerge, dissolve, and reappear without resolving into fixed representation, creating a field in which perception remains in continuous motion. Layers of marks echo across shifting scales, suggesting a world that is not composed of stable objects but of patterns endlessly reconfiguring themselves.
Rather than depicting a landscape, the painting inhabits a threshold between memory, growth, and atmosphere. Gesture functions less as description than as accumulation — each trace generating the possibility of another. The surface becomes a site of simultaneous construction and erosion, where coherence and instability exist together.
The work considers return not as repetition, but as transformation: the way forms, emotions, and states of being continually remake themselves while carrying the residue of what came before.

A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is not automatically issued by the artist, but a digital version can be provided upon request.
