Description from the seller
A0000005179
The pen is in excellent overall condition, presenting an impeccable aesthetic appearance and complete mechanical functionality after being meticulously inspected. It is a beautiful and highly coveted example of German manufacture Montblanc, belonging to the sophisticated and already discontinued Bohème collection in its exclusive "Lacquer Pearl" version (factory reference 36009), characterized by combining high writing craftsmanship with jewelry-like details.
[ THE LACQUER BODY AND THE GUILLOCHE WORK ]
The central body or barrel stands out for its refined craftsmanship, built on a metal base coated with milky white lacquer with subtle iridescent specks that shift tone depending on the incidence of light. The entire lacquered surface features an intricate and clean three-dimensional guilloché engraving with a pattern of waves and concentric circles perfectly executed, offering a highly striking visual and tactile texture. The lacquer retains its original shine intact, free of chips, cracks, or enamel loss, showing a smooth surface meticulously cared for.
[ THE BARREL CLIP AND THE AKOYA PEARL ]
The metal and ornamental elements wear a sumptuous high-brightness gold plating, with a very clean mirror-polished finish and no wear in the friction zones. The front features the iconic arc-shaped clip typical of the Bohème series, at the base of which is masterfully set a natural Akoya pearl in white nacre with a perfect orientation and no surface imperfections. At the apex, the piece is crowned by Montblanc’s six-pointed star emblem made of white resin on a flat, polished black background.
[ MECHANICAL PART AND AUTHENTICITY DETAILS ]
In functional terms, the instrument operates with a precise twist-action mechanism in the upper section, which moves smoothly, firmly, and without play for extending and retracting the nib. The central triple gold-plated ring presents magnificent clarity in its relief engravings, where the signatures "MONTBLANC" and "BOHÈME" are clearly legible. Likewise, the reverse of the clip preserves, with absolute cleanliness, the individual serial number laser-engraved and the origin inscription "GERMANY" that secure the piece’s authenticity.
[ OVERALL LOT VALUE ]
Overall, this is a high-end contemporary-design piece in very good condition, breaking from the traditional sobriety of black resin to offer an aristocratic aesthetic with great collectible value. It remains an excellent writing instrument or a solid investment due to its status as a discontinued boutique model, which increases its appeal in the luxury secondary market.
[ CONSERVATION RECOMMENDATIONS ]
To ensure optimal long-term maintenance of the piece, it is recommended to clean the milky lacquer surface and the gold-plated elements with a dry microfiber cloth after handling to avoid the buildup of oils or fingerprints. It is advised to use exclusively original Montblanc refills to guarantee the smooth operation of the internal threading and to safeguard the pen inside its case when transporting to prevent metal-to-metal rubbing with other objects.
[ SHIPPING AND PACKAGING DETAILS ]
The lot will be shipped duly protected in its original Bohème presentation rigid case with black satin-lined interior, accompanied by its corresponding printed "Service Guide" booklet and the outer black textured cardboard slipcover that retains its factory label with the matching reference code 36009.
Happy bidding!
