Technique: Lithography
Measurements: 22 x 34 cm print; 49 x 62.5 cm paper.
Stains on the paper due to oxidation.
Vilacasas is one of the key names of the Catalan informalist generation. He studied at the School of Industrial Arts and Crafts in Sabadell and later moved to Paris, where he trained at the Atelier Canivet. During the 1950s he exhibited mainly in Barcelona and Paris, but also in other prominent cities such as Madrid, Washington, Taipei, Frankfurt, and London.
With a more established career, Vilacasas exhibited at major contemporary art institutions such as the Venice Biennale, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Joan Miró Foundation. Today his work is part of the collections of MACBA, the Tate Gallery, the Sabadell Art Museum, etc.
