Description from the seller

A0000003998

The Parker Duofold Centennial fountain pen is presented in very good condition, showing an elegant, well-cared-for appearance appropriate for a high-end writing instrument used with respect over time.

The body and cap, made of blue-gray marbled resin, retain a deep, attractive sheen, where the characteristic veining of the material is richly visible. The surface remains clean and uniform, showing only light micro-scratches typical of normal use, difficult to notice at a glance and not affecting the overall aesthetics of the piece.

The gold-plated elements, including the iconic Parker arrow clip and the decorative rings, are in very good condition, with a bright finish and no appreciable loss of plating. The engravings and metal details maintain crisp definition, contributing to the distinguished presence of the set.

The solid 18-karat gold nib, decorated with the classic Parker engraving and the ace of spades motif, is well preserved and properly aligned. The nib surface remains aesthetically sound, with no visible deformations, and the feed is clean and properly seated.

The pen has been serviced and tested, functioning fully and ready for use, offering the smooth and reliable writing experience characteristic of the Duofold series.

Overall, this is a very well-preserved writing instrument that combines Parker’s classic aesthetics with the build quality intrinsic to the Duofold Centennial line, making it a highly attractive piece for both collection and everyday use.

Conservation recommendations

To preserve the pen’s good condition, it is recommended to use inks that are specifically formulated for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks or those containing particulates. If the pen will not be used for an extended period, it is advisable to clean it with warm water, dry it completely before storing, and keep it in a dry place away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Additionally, operate the filling mechanism gently to ensure its proper conservation over time.

It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.

Happy bidding!
