Description from the seller

Great war 1914-1915 briar pipe worn out engraving on the sideof yhe bowl:
Top of bowl: "1914–1915" (partially worn)
Middle: something like "PO..." — possibly "POILUS" (the French WWI nickname for infantry soldiers)
Bottom: "...DES ALLIÉS" ("...of the Allies")
That reads like a WWI patriotic/commemorative phrase — something along the lines of "Poilus des Alliés" ("Soldiers of the Allies"), a common sentiment on trench-art and homefront memorabilia from 1914–1915, the first years of the Great War before the term "Great War"/"WWI" was retrospectively coined.
Weighs 37grammes good antique considition considering war time wear and tear
