Uwe Städler is a German artist whose career has developed around geometric abstraction as an essential language. Formed in the context of postwar Europe, his work is part of the rationalist and constructive tradition, heir to modern thought and to the plastic exploration of form, space, and perception.
Between 1960 and 1965 he studied painting at the Werkkunstschule in Wiesbaden under the guidance of Vincent Weber. In 1973 he moved to Madrid, where he worked as an illustrator at the German Archaeological Institute. Since early 1981 he lives and studies in southern Spain. Since 2003 he has lived and worked in Andalusia, where he continues to develop his artistic practice.
