Magnificent Sheaffer Intrigue set composed of fountain pen and matching ballpoint, preserved in excellent overall condition. The chrome and gunmetal metallic finish maintains a deep, uniform shine, with only light superficial signs of use typical of careful conservation and the passage of time, with no major dents or structural deformations.

The fountain pen retains one of the collection's most emblematic elements: its spectacular “Inlaid Nib” nib in white gold 14K / 585, manufactured in the USA, in size M (Medium). The nib is clean, correctly aligned and functional, also offering the aerodynamic and futuristic aesthetics characteristic of the Intrigue series.

The original Sheaffer filling system remains complete and functional. This model incorporates the renowned “captive converter” system, an integrated converter inside the pen body, developed specifically for the Intrigue line. Unlike traditional detachable converters, the mechanism is permanently integrated inside the fountain pen, preserving the clean, continuous aesthetic of the design.

Operation of the system is performed by partially unscrewing the rear section of the cap, leaving visible a small internal metal knob that actuates the converter piston. When turned with the nib immersed in ink, the system draws ink into the internal reservoir. This is a sophisticated and uncommon technical solution, highly appreciated today by collectors and Sheaffer enthusiasts due to its manufacturing complexity and mechanical uniqueness.

The accompanying ballpoint maintains excellent aesthetic presence and proper operation of its twist mechanism.
