GEIDA presents a 40x40 cm contemporary oil painting on canvas titled Cigarette, signed, from a limited edition of 10 copies (edition number 1), created in 2024, depicting a portrait-like scene of a woman with a cigarette, sold direct from the artist in France, in excellent condition and with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
A woman, a cigarette, a scene of life, an attitude, an atmosphere. Who is the main character of this scene; the woman who in a liberating puff releases the pressure of a day; the cigarette, a marker object of life stages of an era almost gone. The morning cigarette, the after-sex cigarette, the last cigarette and … this everyday scene invites us to imagine all kinds of scenarios, to identify but also to question the place of the cigarette in our societies, previously a marker of life moments, it disappears little by little from our habits, in increasingly dehumanized societies; it fades in this screen of smoke, carrying with it the end of social bonds, of habits, of connections, of image, of atmospheres, of icons.
GEIDA, is a French artist, from the south of France, born in 1982, on the shores of the Côte d’Azur.
Inspired by classical and modern painting, he sails between contemporary works and street art. His creations incorporate emblematic elements of classical and pop culture. His works are characterized by reinterpretations of major painters, warm colors, expressive and enchanting compositions.
GEIDA explores different forms of universe and productions. Some of his works are reproduced in small series on canvases mounted on stretchers, thus creating limited editions accessible to a wider public.
