Schatz 1881 – Precision Barometer with Visible Movement – Brass – Germany – 2008
Elegant Schatz 1881 precision barometer in a nautical style, made in Germany and characterized by the refined aneroid movement visible through the central opening of the dial.
The substantial polished brass case recalls naval portholes and features a front opening with glass and screw closure, typical of Schatz production. The dial bears the double scale in millibars and millimeters of mercury with the classic meteorological indications “Stormy”, “Rain”, “Change”, “Fair” and “Very Dry”.
The back shows the pressure adjustment system (“Adjust Pressure”), while inside there is the marking 08.02

Conditions
The item is in very good overall condition both functionally and aesthetically with respect to the dial. The case shows normal signs of aging and use. There is a crack at the lower part of the brass case, clearly visible in the photographs, in addition to some areas of finish oxidation.
