Magnificent photograph by Robert Capa original sealed on the back. In the images you can see a bombarded population where citizens are removing debris, dating from January 1944. Robert Capa covered the Allied invasion of Sicily (Operation Husky) in July 1943.
Robert Capa, pseudonym of Endre Ernő Friedmann (Budapest, Hungary), 22 October 1913 – Thai Binh, (Vietnam) 25 May 1954), was a Hungarian war correspondent and photojournalist of the 20th century. He left Hungary at the age of 17. He traveled around the world in search of the best shots for his camera. This took him to Mexico, Italy, France, Japan, Indochina, Vietnam, Israel, England or North Africa.
