Konstantin Prokhorov was born in Karavaevo, Vladimir region, in 1924. He studied at the Palekh Art College, the Ivanovo Art College (1940-1942, 1945-1946) and the N. Samokish Simferopol Art College in 1946-’48, where he then worked as a teacher until 1954. At the same time he took distant education courses at the Repin Leningrad Institute of Art. He became a member of the Union of Artists in 1948. In 1955-58, he was the head of the Crimea Regional section of the Artists’ Union of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, since 1989 – the chairman of the military commission of the Moscow section of the Artists’ Union.

His paintings can be found in the museums of Sevastopol, Simferopol, Serpukhov, Dmitrov and Moscow and were acquired by the Russian and Ukrainian Ministries of Culture and private collectors in Russia and abroad.
