Description:
This premium paper print merges the design of modern Japanese role-playing games with the classic, flat illustrative style of traditional woodcuts. The warrior Cloud Strife is depicted standing upright and proudly three-quarters, distinguished by his unmistakable, sharp golden-blond hair and intense blue eyes. He wears a wide midnight-blue cloak and dark armor cinched at the waist with belts. One gloved hand, protected by a studded cuff, rests on the decorated hilt of a monumental sword, whose golden guard is finely carved with geometric motifs and flaming elements, while the white blade features clean, linear engravings. The background is dominated by a deep ultramarine sky, interrupted by fluffy cream and gray stylized clouds, laid down with a grainy, vintage texture.
"In the contrast between the hair's gold and the depth of indigo lies the solemn calm that precedes every great battle."
Creative process:
The work was created through an innovative hybrid process: an initial draft was generated with sophisticated artificial intelligence, subsequently interpreted and fully hand-colored by the artist using professional iPad software. In the final stage, a dedicated filter was applied to enhance the neo ukiyo-e style, giving the illustration incisive lines, strong contrasts, and that graphic elegance typical of contemporary Japanese tradition.
Packaging and Shipping:
Each print is personally packed by the artist in their own studio; the packaging is highly protective as the print is shipped rolled in protective tubes.
The Artist – SSICK:
SSICK, born in 2003, is a young Italian artist whose work stands out for its ongoing search for balance between technological innovation and artistic sensibility. From the early days of his career, he developed a personal visual language characterized by evocative compositions and immersive atmospheres. He also nurtures a deep passion for street art and graffiti, exploring these disciplines through the design and creation of original stencils used to bring visually impactful and identity-driven urban interventions to life.
Founder of the artistic collective SSICKLAB, he views technology as an expressive tool at the service of creativity. His works take shape through a process that integrates artificial intelligence with a deep digital painting intervention done manually on iPad, making each piece the result of a unique artistic vision.
