Description from the seller
This work is by the Dutch photographer Hans Wilschut (Ridderkerk, 1966), who focuses on industrial and urban landscapes. His background as a painter is clearly visible in his photographic style, in which composition and light play an important role. By using long exposure times, his work often features an almost extraterrestrial, painterly light. The absence of people reinforces the sense of stillness, giving his images a detached yet at the same time poetic and romantic atmosphere. The modern city is thus depicted as a universal landscape, detached from its inhabitants and daily use.
In this case Wilschut has captured the Frisian town IJlst, in which the characteristic atmosphere of his work clearly comes to the fore.
Dimensions: 76 x 99 cm
Dimensions with frame: 79 x 102 cm
Viewings are, of course, possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing department, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the trade organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
