Description from the seller
This oil painting by Michael John Hunt depicts the Korte Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. The work is signed bottom right.
Michael John Hunt is primarily known for his still lifes, which often depict intimate interiors, in both a stately and a more rustic atmosphere.
As with the Dutch Masters, the surfaces in his paintings are very finely worked, showing his technical skill in realistic light effects such as shadows and reflections.
His work is permanently on view at The Hunt Gallery in England and the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery in New York.
In addition, he has participated for six years in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, as well as, among others, the Paris Salon, the National Art Collection Fund and the Society of Equestrian Artists.
Dimensions: 20 x 15 cm
Dimensions with frame: 39 x 33 cm
Provenance:
- Pieter Breughel
- Private collection, Netherlands
Viewing is, of course, possible. We also have our own in-house picture framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore, we work with restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, please let us know.
