The painter Jan Jacob Coenraad Spohler was born on 17 October 1837 in Amsterdam. The greater part of his life he lived and worked in his birthplace. He was a pupil and son of the J.J. Spohler (1811–1866) born in Nederhorst den Berg. Spohler Sr. mostly painted summer and winter landscapes, especially ice scenes with many figures. The young Spohler worked in the same manner, painting similar subjects. He proved to be a very good pupil.

Viewing is of course possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would be pleased to hear from you.
