Description from the seller

There exists a suspended moment when the water is still fresh, when the sun already warms the skin and when the day promises all freedoms. This silhouette seen from behind celebrates these small summer rituals that require no artifice to become unforgettable. An ode to simplicity, to light, and to the pleasure of disappearing for a few moments beneath the surface.

In the depths of the imagination, the laws of nature fade away to make room for those of dreams. Between wild power and absolute serenity, this scene invites us to look beyond appearances. For the most dreaded creatures are not always those we think, and beauty is sometimes born from the most unlikely encounters.

Biography:

Wags, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the path of a polymorphic artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Wags discovered at a very young age his first passion, musical creation. This passion guided him in his youth, and his early talents led him to take a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher studies to invest it in creating his first album.

Distributed by EMI, the album did not meet the expected success, but it marked the beginning of an artistic career rich in experimentation.

Parallel to his musical career, Wags entered the advertising world as a designer/writer for the iconic magazine Playboy. For many years, he put his creativity at the service of the publication by creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career came in 2005 when he became a cameraman, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovered a passion for photography, adding yet another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founded his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Wags made a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who became a major figure in world street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted artistic creation, Wags stands out with more than 3000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

Seeking to explore new artistic universes, Wags is none other than Kobalt who signs under this pseudonym so as not to interfere with his usual work.

This contemporary figurative painting draws inspiration from classical realism and a glamorous modern aesthetic. Collectors who appreciate the light of Joaquín Sorolla, the mastery of Anders Zorn, the elegance of John Singer Sargent, as well as the worlds of Richard S. Johnson, Pino Daeni, Jack Vettriano, Fabian Perez, and Jeremy Lipking will find in this work an atmosphere and a treatment of light that are familiar to them.
