William Klein was one of the most innovative and influential photographers of the 20th century. Born in New York in 1926 and moving to Paris in 1948, he began his career as a painter before dedicating himself to photography. He became famous for his unconventional style, characterized by dynamic images, bold perspectives, strong contrasts, and the use of wide-angle lenses, breaking the rules of traditional photography. He collaborated extensively with Vogue magazine, revolutionizing fashion photography with a spontaneous and innovative language. His famous photographic books devoted to cities such as New York, Rome, Moscow, and Tokyo have portrayed urban life with a direct, ironic, and often provocative gaze. In addition to photography, he was also a documentary filmmaker. He passed away in Paris in 2022, leaving a fundamental legacy in the history of contemporary photography
