Ibrahim Arafat is surfing the waves of the Mediterranean in front of the Annadi Al Bahri Marine Club of Gaza City, in the Gaza Strip. The photo was taken in 2010 during a photographic reportage dedicated to the world of Gaza surfers, a small group of young Palestinians who despite the enormous difficulties of daily life in the Strip tried to play sports and have fun.
The image is signed on the back and measures 30x40 cm. It is printed in a limited edition (25 copies) on Hahnemühle Baryta FB 350 gr. paper and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
Alessandro Gandolfi is an Italian professional photographer and journalist. Interested in telling the small and big changes of contemporary society, his reports have appeared in outlets around the world and exhibited in various international photo shows and festivals. He has received international recognitions such as the Sony World Photography Award, the NPPA Best of Photojournalism, the POY - Pictures of the Year and the PDN. Eight of his reports published on National Geographic Italia have earned the “Best Edit Award” as the best reportage published in the various local editions of the magazine.
