In Casablanca, Morocco, a girl looks out from VOG Café, overlooking United Nations Square: she is one of several extras posing as fans of the Moroccan national football team during the filming of a commercial for a mobile phone company. The photograph was taken in 2025 as part of a reportage on the Moroccan city, a true gateway to Africa and the cradle of a new generation of educated, aware, inclusive young people, close to Islamic traditions yet bold and creative, open to the world.
The image is signed on the back and measures 30x40 cm. It is printed in a limited edition (25 copies) on Hahnemühle Baryta FB 350 g/m2 paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Alessandro Gandolfi is an Italian professional photographer and journalist. Interested in documenting the small and large shifts of contemporary society, his reports have appeared in outlets around the world and have been shown at various international photo exhibitions and festivals. He has received international recognition such as the Sony World Photography Award, the NPPA Best of Photojournalism, the POY – Pictures of the Year, and the PDN. Eight of his reports published in National Geographic Italia have earned the “Best Edit Award” as the best feature across the magazine’s various local editions.
