In this very beautiful large-format canvas, Master Antonio Sciacca stages a fascinating dialogue between myth and nature, typical of his more mature production. The work is dominated by the figure of a Gorgon (Medusa), rendered with an aesthetic that recalls the world of theater and costume: the face is painted like a mask, almost to emphasize artistic fiction, while the snakes crowning her head dart with vivid colors (green, yellow, blue), creating a unique chromatic dynamism.
The title, "The Gorgon and My Friends," revealed by the autograph inscription on the back, suggests an ironic and personal interpretation of the myth.
