Giuseppe Martinelli (Viareggio 19/01/1930 - Milan 15/07/2016). Bar Italiano, 1959 - Mixed media on paper in a wooden frame. Signed and dated at the bottom right. On the back are paper labels for the 1968 exhibition at the "V Mostra Nazionale della grafica di costume e dell'incisione" containing the painter's name, the title of the work, dimensions 50 x 70 cm, and the date of the Exhibition 1968. In good condition. An artist associated with the artistic movement defined as Existential Realism, touched by the informal current, he also adhered to a figurative style of an expressionist kind. The latest works depict him engaged in mixed techniques with gesturality and emotion that are increasingly merging with the abstract. His works are also preserved at the Museo Permanente in Milan and at the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo in Brescia.
