With this square-format artwork, Medsan transforms the helmet of the Stormtrooper — the Empire’s emblematic soldier from Star Wars — into a piece of Japanese porcelain repaired with kintsugi. The white helm is covered with cobalt blue floral motifs and iron-red details in the Arita-Imari style, its cracks sublimated by fine gold veins, on a deep black background. This single giclée carries the signature « メドサン » (Medsan).

The visual impact of the composition lies in its oil painting technique with carefully built-up impasto: chrysanthemums, swirls, friezes and stylized waves imitating ceramic glaze, traversed by the network of gold cracks unique to kintsugi — the art of “repairing with gold.” The contrast of porcelain white against the intense black enhances the object's preciousness.
