Description from the seller
LANCEL Paris "Automatique" massive table lighter - Silver plated, Art Deco (France, 1930s) - Functional Product Description I am selling a special museum piece: a Lancel Paris mechanical table and desk lighter, the original patented "Automatique" model, manufactured in France in the 1930s (Art Deco period). It is the massive large format version, specially designed to decorate an elegant desk or coffee table. Dimensions and Materials: Exact dimensions: Height 10 cm | Width 9 cm. Base material: Heavy solid brass body, plated with a generous layer of silver (Silver-Plated Brass). Design: Spectacular two-tone finish - glossy black enamel/bakelite case, contrasting with geometric silver bands. Markings and Authenticity (base of the lighter): It bears the official hallmarks of the French house: "LANCEL", "BREVETÉ S.G.D.G. 75-22", "FAB. FRANCE" and the "LANCEL AUTOMATIQUE" model engraved on the lower wheel. Workshop hallmark (Poinçon): It features the tiny mark indented into the metal, characteristic of luxury French silver/plated pieces from the interwar period. Mechanism and Technical Condition: Fully functional mechanism: It is the model with quick release by lever. With a single press of the side trigger, the upper lever automatically jumps under spring pressure and ignites the fuse instantly.Aesthetic condition: Excellent state of preservation for its age (almost 100 years). It has a superb original silver patina, without dents or cracks in the enamel.Fuel: Works classically with gasoline and stone (delivered unfueled according to transport safety regulations)
