Piero GILARDI (1942-2023)
In auction an fascinating and historic color screen print by master Piero Gilardi, titled "Fallen Peaches" and created in 1974.
The work translates onto paper the celebrated philosophy of his famous "Nature Carpets".
The composition captures a fragment of unspoiled woodland soil, where ripe fruits engage in dialogue with the bright green blades of grass through a pop, vivid color language with a strong graphic impact.
A historic piece that unites the conceptual rigor of Arte Povera with the aesthetics of Italian pop art of the 1970s.
On the back there is the dating and edition label.
Excellent conservation condition.
Very slight signs of time and wear clearly visible in the photo.
