Pair of Large Ephemeral Japanese Plates from the Era – Early 1900s (Taisho/Meiji Period)
Description:
For sale a rare pair of parade plates in original Japanese artistic ceramic, dating from the early 20th century (early 1900s). These pieces represent an excellent testimony to Japanese craftsmanship destined for the era's most refined collections.
Main Features:
• Origin: Authentic Japanese manufacture, confirmed by the impressed seal mark.
• Motif: Traditional Japanese landscape rendered in cobalt blue under glaze, with pagodas, mountains, and ancient pines.
• Relief Work: The scene is not only painted, but features a raised texture that gives tridimensionality and prestige to the piece.
• Craquelé Finish: The surface is entirely characterized by a dense crackle (craquelé) natural, typical of Oriental ceramics of the period.
• Authenticity Seal: On the back there is a square seal mark impressed dry with original Japanese characters.

• Diameter: 28 cm (large display size).
• Edge: Perimeter decoration with a geometric fan motif (Seigaiha style).
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition; the plates already come with original spring metal supports for wall mounting.
