Description from the seller
Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful, and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden, studied at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and later worked for a long time from Amsterdam. Her artist name was also sometimes “La Roja,” referring to her preference for bold colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by vibrant use of color, dynamic forms, and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance, and dream imagery play a major role. She often employed mixed techniques, including acrylic, oil paint, and pencil, giving her works a rich, textured quality that directly engages emotion. Her art is described as lively, energetic, and full of movement, almost as if the canvases “breathe.”
Dimensions of the work: 120 x 150 cm
The work is available for viewing in our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay operates a framing workshop (this year their 85th anniversary) and a restoration studio. So if you would like to make use of these services, we would be happy to hear from you.
Shipping is possible; this will be arranged afterwards. For questions, please contact us.
