“Behind the wall” arises from the idea of an opening: the surrounding white isn’t just a backdrop, but a neutral, silent, almost domestic wall. In the center, the circle becomes like a hole in the wall, an abrupt window that reveals a glimpse of another world.

Inside this opening there exists a more complex surface, made of signs, overlaps and depth. The pink underneath isn’t just a background color: it’s the same pattern as the black, but placed on a lower level. It remains more hidden, less immediate, and creates a sense of stratification, as if behind the visible surface there were another weave that continues to live.

The black is the most evident level, the one that structures and dominates the gaze; the pink, instead, works beneath, like a deeper presence. From the overlap of these two patterns a particular depth is born: the circle does not seem merely painted on the canvas, but becomes a passage, a small threshold toward a different space.

In this sense, the work is like a doorway: a white, flat wall that opens onto a world made of signs, rhythm and overlaps.

ARTIST

I am Pietro Fight, Italian visual artist, born 1992, based in Milan. My research develops within abstract painting and symbolic abstraction, through a personal language built on circular modules, nets of signs and repeated traces. My work arises from the desire to transform thought, memory and instinct into image, creating visual fields suspended between rhythm and silence, order and chaos, accumulation and emptiness.

Within this research I developed an original pattern, which I consider the core of my language and which I pursue with the aim of making it increasingly recognizable and unique. I work on canvas with different techniques, layering glazes, markings, black sign and color blocks to give shape to dense, tense and vibrant surfaces.

This language was born in 2020, during the Covid period, when I transformed the boredom of daily routine into a process made of repetition, rhythm and small variations. From that period also derives the signature “Corona”, a direct trace of that time. The mark I trace is instantaneous and records the mechanics of my mind: even within a repeated grammar, every trace changes and every work remains unrepeatable.

IMPORTANT: for security reasons and to reduce shipping costs, the canvas will be sent rolled in a rigid tube (no frame). The shipment will be trackable; once received, the work can be mounted by a framer.
There is an unpainted canvas margin to facilitate framing. Unique and original work, signed on the back, accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist (with personalized stamp).
