Description from the seller
Adrien Moroni (1943) – Collation à la Colle (1990)
Description of the work
Fascinating mixed-media painting on canvas by the Master Adrien Moroni (1943), entitled "Collation à la Colle" and dated 1990.
The work is a splendid outdoor still life that immediately evokes the luminous, relaxed atmosphere of the French Midi (the title refers to La Colle-sur-Loup, a famous artistic location on the Côte d'Azur). The composition unfolds around a table set in front of typical blue shutters and a lush backdrop of vegetation. Protagonists of the scene are two elegant glass carafes, a bowl of fruit, a rich cluster of grapes, and a white cloth laid down with softness, all rendered with a fresh, tactile brushstroke and with clear post-impressionist inspiration.
The color palette, dominated by shades of blue, azure, and green, is vibrant and gives the scene extraordinary luminosity and a sense of fresh Mediterranean breeze.
