Biography of painter Nguyen Robert 1958.
Born in 1958 in Ben Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work stands out for a unique fusion of Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From an early age, he has been fascinated by the rural architecture of his surroundings, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of the floating markets, the shadows cast by water palms—so many elements that will become the basis of his visual language.

Having always lived in his native region, Nguyen Robert developed, over the decades, a deeply contemporary, modern, and architecturally oriented style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while retaining a poetic sensibility inherent to Vietnamese culture.

His dual Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the audacity of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul injects gentleness, spirituality, and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets the timeless, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual power.
