This is not a modern reproduction, but a true working piece recovered from naval demolition, which preserves its intact original dark patina gifted by time and salt spray. The piece is characterized by a heavy high-strength frame with no fewer than 3 locking dogs (eyelet screws) arranged radially, a robust configuration typical of portholes installed on the exposed superstructures of ships. It features on the edge of the flange an industrial-era serial marking, with the registration/cassation number 9758350 clearly legible, attesting to its historical authenticity. The porthole has been skillfully enhanced for furnishing: it is mounted on a solid dark wood base ready for wall installation and has been transformed into an exclusive decorative mirror.
