Born from the hands of master Federico Alibrio, "Threshold Guardian" is a magnetic terracotta sculpture, hand-shaped in full and finished with a sophisticated cold patina technique. The work depicts a barn owl, a creature that has long populated myth and the collective imagination as a bridge between visible and invisible worlds.

Symbolism and Meaning
The barn owl is not merely a night predator, but the Custodian of the Threshold. It is the one who safeguards the fine boundary between day and night, between the conscious and the unconscious, between rough matter and spirit.
Its pose, statuesque and reserved, conveys a solemn calm: the raptor does not hunt, but watches. It becomes a protective and silent presence, a totem of ancestral wisdom that invites introspection and the search for what lies beyond the veil of appearances.

Material and Color
The true expressive strength of the work lies in contrast and texture:
- Texture: The terracotta surface is carved with scratches, engravings, and dense geometric details that recall both the delicacy of the plumage and the roughness of bark or sun-baked earth, giving the piece a strong, material, almost fossil-like imprint.
- The Colors of the Patina: The cold patination creates an extraordinary chromatic symphony. Warm shades of copper, antique gold, and deep burgundy alternate with shadowy, darkened zones at the base, where the work seems to emerge directly from rock or a timeless night. The Italian artist Federico Alibrio, born in 1995, is always seeking inspiration through new experiences.

Graduated in Sculpture in 2021 from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania, he works in sculpture and painting. He has participated in and continues to participate in high-profile cultural exhibitions and symposia, showing commitment and seriousness in tackling the sculptural practice.

Reality itself is the greatest source of inspiration. His passions are: wildlife (sensitive to endangered species) and trees. His goal is to showcase the beauty of nature.
