The Window - Hand signed by Le Yack (1972) is a 40 × 40 cm giclée on canvas, edition limited to 20, a portrait in Renaissance style, produced in France and sold direct from the artist, with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist and ready to frame.
Description from the seller
Night falls over an American plain. A blue-lavender wooden house, painted siding, two large windows lit from inside by a warm, amber light. Outside, in the tall golden grasses, a woman in a floral green dress stands, her hands resting on the sill of the open window. She looks inside — or she looks at what the outside can no longer give her.
The Yack reverses the classic Hopperian arrangement: it is no longer the interior looking out, but the outside looking in. The warmth of the lamp against the blue of twilight, the woman between two worlds, the road receding to the left — all say the same thing without ever stating it. It’s a painting on the threshold, on the hesitation between staying and leaving.
