Incense burner (2) - Earthenware - Incense burner and vase

Set of two antique Japanese Satsuma pieces: a koro and a vase dating from the late Meiji to early Taisho period (circa 1900–1920).
The set consists of:
1. A three-legged koro (incense burner) with lid, fitted with detailed Shishi / Foo Dog temple lions as the handles and lid knob. Dimensions: 23 cm high and 12 cm wide.
2. A matching decorative vase with an elegantly flaring neck and molded cord handles, with warrior imagery. Dimensions: 25 cm high and 10 cm wide. (small frit at the rim)
Both pieces are richly hand-painted in the distinctive thick 'moriage' glaze style (textured relief). The decoration features traditional Japanese figures and motifs in classic iron red, gold-yellow, black and white on a subtly crackled ground.
In nice antique condition.
The scenes are often traditional Japanese figures such as warriors (Samurai).
