Biography of Hoang Anh.
Born in 1984 in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, lives and works in Hanoi
Originally from Thanh Hoa province, located 150 km south of Hanoi, Hoang Anh belongs to that pivotal generation of Vietnamese artists (the “8x” generation) who blend cultural heritage with contemporary abstraction. A graduate of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, he has established himself on Hanoi’s art scene with a bold approach to matter and color.

Style and Artistic Approach
Hoang Anh’s work is characterized by an intense exploration of texture and movement. While he explores varied themes such as landscapes, nature, and the female figure, it is in abstraction that he reveals his full expressive power:
• The energy of gesture: A devotee of oil and acrylic painting, he frequently uses a palette knife to apply color in bold horizontal strokes. This gesture creates a almost musical rhythm on the canvas.
