An early Dunhill Rollagas presentation butane lighter manufactured in Switzerland in the late 1950's and preserved together with its original Dunhill presentation case and original instruction booklet.
The Rollagas became one of Alfred Dunhill's most important creations and remains one of the finest luxury lighters ever produced. Early examples from the first years of production are considerably scarcer than later models, particularly when complete with their original packaging.
This example is distinguished by the beautifully engraved Alfa Romeo emblem on the lid, identifying it as a presentation lighter produced for Alfa Romeo. Corporate presentation lighters of this quality were manufactured only for specific commissions and never as regular catalogue production. Once the order had been completed no further examples were produced, making surviving originals considerably rarer than standard commercial Rollagas lighters.
The finely engine-turned body remains in very good condition with crisp decoration throughout.
