Sami Briss (1930) - Couple Composition

Original lithograph by Romanian-Israeli artist Sami Briss (born 1930), depicting a couple composition in a figurative style. Briss emigrated from Romania to Israel and became associated with the Israeli art scene from the mid-twentieth century onward; his figurative prints are held in private collections in Israel and Europe. The sheet measures 65 x 50 cm and is unframed. This example is an artist's proof (EA — épreuve d'artiste), printed outside the regular numbered edition and signed in pencil by the artist lower right; the designation EA is inscribed lower left. Condition is Good: there is a small tear at approximately the centre of the sheet that is almost invisible; brown oxidation and toning are present along all four edges of the sheet. No foxing or restoration has been observed.
