Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Measures: 50 x 37 cm
In this work I wanted to capture a moment of pause and recollection in the life of a dancer. Beyond the physical effort and the discipline that dance requires, I was interested in showing the more human and vulnerable side of someone who dedicates their life to the pursuit of perfection.
The figure appears bent over itself, in a pose of rest and introspection. The pointe shoes, protagonists of the composition, symbolize sacrifice, perseverance, and the countless hours of work that remain hidden behind the apparent lightness of ballet. The softness of the pink tones contrasts with the turquoise background, creating a serene atmosphere that invites contemplation.
Through light and an intimate composition, I sought to convey the delicate boundary between strength and fragility. This painting is a tribute to silent dedication, to the beauty that arises from discipline, and to those moments of calm when the artist is alone with themselves.
