Fountain Pen WAHL-EVERSHARP SKYLINE (USA, 1940s):
We present at auction an absolute icon of 20th-century design: the Wahl-Eversharp Skyline. Designed in the early 1940s by the famous industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss, its radical teardrop silhouette was inspired by the aerodynamics of locomotives and aircraft of the era, quickly becoming the best-selling pen in the United States during that decade.
This is a very comfortable and well-balanced instrument, with exact measurements of [Introduce length] cm in length (closed) and a maximum thickness of [Introduce thickness] cm.
This unit features a sober and extremely elegant color combination: a deep navy blue celluloid cap paired with a solid black barrel. The cap is topped with a gold band and its iconic clip that crosses over the dome, where the famous "Double Tick" (brand quality seal) shines.
It is fitted with its original Eversharp nib forged in solid 14-karat gold (Made in USA). The filling system is the traditional lever-filler mechanism, so characteristic of the American fountain pen golden age.
Condition (Expert Review)
Collectors are asked to carefully study the photo gallery. The pen is in an exceptional aesthetic condition for more than 80 years of history:
Celluloid and Metal: The plastics retain a deep shine with no severe scratches, cracks, or bite marks. The golden elements (clip, band, and lever) are in very good condition.
Nib: In magnificent condition, clean and with the gulls well aligned.
Mechanics: The lever sits flush with the body. (Note: as this is a vintage lever-fill pen, the original rubber sac inside may need replacement for daily use by the buyer, standard for pens of this era. Supplied without original presentation box).
Shipping
The item will be carefully protected and securely packaged, with insured shipping and an international tracking number.
A fantastic opportunity to add a piece of American industrial design history to your collection!
