AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

BUTACÓN AMARILLO is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work portrays a bright, exuberant interior in which a large yellow armchair becomes the visual center of the composition. Surrounded by tropical plants, blue ceramic pots, and architecture open to the garden, the seat conveys a sense of rest, intimacy, and well-being. The blue door ajar and the arch in the background expand the perspective and connect the domestic space with the outside nature.

The palette is built through strong contrasts between the mustard yellow of the chair, the reds and pinks of the floor and walls, the blues of the carpentry, and the deep greens of the vegetation. The color does not aim to reproduce reality literally, but to express a warm, vital, Mediterranean atmosphere.

The brushwork is visible, free, and direct, with simplified shapes and bold outlines that recall the chromatic freedom of Fauvism and Henri Matisse’s interiors. Echoes of contemporary figurative painting and David Hockney’s domestic scenes are also perceived, especially in the treatment of architecture, perspective, and the interior–exterior relationship.

The absence of human figures turns the empty armchair into a silent presence, as if someone had just left the room. This painting is especially appealing to collectors interested in colorful interiors, contemporary figurative art, Mediterranean decoration, botany, architecture, and Fauvist-inspired compositions.
