Description from the seller
LA MESA AZUL is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work presents a domestic still life arranged on a round table in intense blue. On its surface appear a decorated ceramic piece, a stylized vase with white daisies, a small antelope sculpture, and a solitary orange. The combination of these elements creates a scene that is balanced, intimate, and full of personality.
The composition is built with a frontal, clear organization. The table occupies much of the foreground and functions as a large chromatic surface that brings together all the objects. The background, adorned with branches and pinkish flowers, adds lightness and depth, while the lateral green strip introduces a vertical structure that balances the whole.
The palette combines cobalt blue, greens, soft pinks, luminous whites, blacks, and small orange accents. Color is used expressively and decoratively, more focused on creating visual harmony than on faithfully reproducing reality. The orange, located in the foreground, acts as a warm counterpoint within the blue dominance.
The brushwork is visible, free and synthetic, with simplified shapes and defined contours. The ornamental character of the background, the arrangement of the objects and the chromatic intensity show affinities with Henri Matisse's interiors and still lifes, as well as with the Fauvist tradition and contemporary figurative painting.
The blue table is particularly attractive to collectors interested in modern still lifes, ceramics, flowers, animal sculpture, colorful interiors, decorative design, and Fauvist-inspired contemporary painting.
