Description from the seller
In this listing we present one of the most tactile, architectural and contemporary models from the Hamburg house: the Montblanc StarWalker Rubber & Metal Roller / Fineliner Pen (often affectionately nicknamed by collectors as the “Rubber Line” or simply “Rubber”).
The StarWalker line represents the most modern and future-facing soul of Montblanc, and this particular variation is perhaps its most iconic example. The body and cap feature an exclusive surface in precious black rubber, diamond-engraved to reveal a strict and elegant metal grid pattern with platinum plating. This workmanship not only gives the instrument a distinctive technical and metropolitan look, but also ensures an exceptional tactile grip during writing. The metal finishes, including the robust clip, are all platinum-plated. To crown the cap we find the collection’s aesthetic signature: the famous white Montblanc star suspended and floating inside the transparent resin dome.
From a technical standpoint, we are looking at a versatile Roller (Rollerball / Fineliner). Unlike the ballpoint model, this version is equipped with a cap with screw closure. As clearly documented by the images showing the instrument disassembled into its three main components, replacing the refill (uses the classic Montblanc Fineliner or Rollerball refills) is simple and intuitive by unscrewing the generous platinum-plated grip from the rubber barrel.
The condition of this object should be considered in excellent overall condition. It is important to note that the rubber surface (which in heavily used or poorly stored examples tends to deteriorate or become tacky) here is perfectly intact, matte, clean and free of obvious wear. The delicate metal grid mesh also shows no interruptions or dents. The platinum-plated finishes are bright and highly polished, with only the physiologically normal and virtually invisible micro-scratches (hairlines) from normal use.
