Renato Bussi, Bretagna, original oil on canvas from 1973, a unique landscape work in 75 x 75 cm (104 x 104 cm with frame), signed and dated, Italian origin, framed in a large gold frame with glass.
Description from the seller
Splendid and imposing original oil painting by the well-known Italian painter Renato Bussi, an important and richly composed period piece dated 1973 and officially titled "Bretagna". The work depicts a fascinating and dramatic nocturnal landscape with a rural farmhouse surrounded by bare trees, dominated by a twilight sky and a soft moon cutting through the darkness. The painting technique stands out for a distinctly tactile and expressionist approach, rich in dense color impasto laid down with vigorous spatula touches and rapid brushstrokes, unmistakable stylistic signatures of the author that confer extraordinary lyrical force and dynamic energy to the scene.
