A young woman in a yellow dress lies in the hollow of a dune, surrounded by wild grasses that lean into the wind. She holds in her hand a red apple — the only perfectly round object in a tableau of curves and diagonals. Her eyes are half-closed. She expects nothing. Le Yack evokes here an ancient iconography — the woman in nature, the apple as a symbol — but without any mythological heaviness. It is not Eve, it is not Persephone. It is a woman dreaming at the edge of the sea, in a yellow dress, on a summer afternoon. And that is enough.
Le Yack, a French emerging pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) of Orléans. He is a artistic director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45.
