LA ESCALERA is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work depicts an interior Mediterranean courtyard, dominated by a rising staircase in tones of red, orange, and pink that leads to a blue door ajar. Large tropical plants in blue pots accompany the journey and transform the space into a domestic garden filled with light, color, and mystery.

The composition is built from a pronounced vertical perspective. The steps guide the gaze from the foreground to the rear opening, where the door functions as a vanishing point and as a narrative element. That presence suggests passage, discovery and access to another space, so the scene is not only architectural but also symbolic.
